Lake County School District Board Names Finalists for Superintendent Position
The Lake County School District Board of Directors is pleased to announce the selection of one finalist for further consideration to serve as the district’s next Superintendent: Lloyd Hartley.
The board extends its appreciation to the many qualified applicants who expressed interest in serving Lake County students, staff, and families. Following a thorough screening and review process, the board has identified one exceptional educational leader to move forward in the search.
Lloyd Hartley
Dr. Hartley is a well-known local leader currently serving as Director of Special Education and Vice Principal (7–12) for Lake County School District. He brings more than two decades of Oregon administrative experience, including prior service as superintendent in three Oregon districts: Clatskanie, Glendale, and Long Creek. Dr. Hartley holds a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Lewis & Clark College, where his dissertation explored the antecedents of superintendent leadership skills. He has also served as an adjunct professor in educational law and equity in resources and is deeply familiar with the Lake County community and its schools.
Community Forum – February 12
The finalist will participate in a community forum on February 12 from 5:30 PM to 6:30 PM at the AD Hay Elementary Cafeteria. Staff, families, students, and community members are encouraged to attend, meet the candidate, and provide feedback to the board.
Comment cards will be available at the forum to allow attendees to share their impressions and input following the event.
The board will conduct a formal interview and debrief reference checks following the forum. The board anticipates making a final selection shortly thereafter.
