Lakeview High School wants to give a massive Honker Shoutout to junior, Matthew Finetti, the newest member of the state OSAA Student Advisory Council!! Matthew is a Varsity Football, Basketball and Track Athlete, as well as fantastic student in the classroom. To be chosen for this council, Matthew had to fill out an extensive application, then interview with members from OSAA. When asked what was his largest concern, he discussed the scheduling and transportation issues involved in small, rural districts such as Lakeview. He reminded OSAA that our athletes have to travel 3+ hours to games during the week, while many other districts in metropolitan areas travel 20 minutes. We are so excited to see Matthew’s contribution to change for athletics across the state. Matthew is the son of Chris and Abbi Finetti. He is actively involved in his 4-H group, Thomas Creek Livestock, where he is a junior leader and shows in the swine shows yearly. Upon graduation next year, Matthew wants to follow in father’s footsteps and be an electrician or receive a degree in construction or business management.

Happy Fall Elementary Parents, We are excited to celebrate fall with our students this Thursday. We are hosting a bonus day with a fall festival theme at Fremont and A.D. Hay Elementary. We encourage our students to wear fall colors if they would like but please do not send Halloween costumes to school, as we are not hosting a costume dress-up at school. Just as a heads up, many of our students are arriving at school up to 45 minutes before the first bell rings and even before our staff arrives. Please make sure your students are dressed appropriately for the early morning weather. All students are expected to go outside for recess for exercise and fresh air in temperatures above 20 degrees. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out. We look forward to seeing you at Fall Parent/Teacher Conferences on November 7th and 8th. Thank you for your support! The LHS seniors are so fortunate! Today members of our community helped seniors with interview skills by participating in mock interviews. Each senior sent judges cover letters and resumes, then each senior was able to participate in three interviews. The feedback from each judge was very helpful to the students. Don't miss the Fall Harvest Festival at the school Ag Farm this Saturday and Sunday 10-4! The horticulture students grew the pumpkins and our FFA members have collaborated with lots of other student groups to create a fun filled weekend! There will be games, a petting zoo, face painting, a Photo Booth, and the culinary class has been baking up a storm with lots of delicious treats for sale including cinnamon rolls in the morning and will be grilling up hot dogs in the afternoon. The Ag Farm is located on Stock Drive, look for the signs and our new white, 3- sided barn...if you reach airport road, you've went too far! We can't wait to see everyone!
