KORV Santa Run / December 18th @ 2:00pm

LHS/DMS have had an exciting week, we wanted to share some of the amazing things our staff and students are doing.
- Floral Design students have a floral arrangement subscription program. Those who subscribe get an arrangement for each holiday. This week they worked on some gorgeous wreaths.
- Physical Science brought together their knowledge of motion through a rollercoaster engineering project. These turned out AWESOME!
- Agribusiness participated in Shark Tank presentations. They had great ideas!
- Culinary competed in a plating contest where they had to make hot dogs and French fries look gourmet.
- Art class is working on paintings to decorate the local Food Share.
- It was Mental Health week so Health class had a variety of guest speakers on topics such as meditation, addiction, and brain development.
- 8th grade math demonstrated their knowledge of the Pythagorean Theorem by bringing two items together to create a “hypotenuse.” Check out the photos below to guess what the items are.
- Career and Personal finance had mock interviews, we appreciate all the community members who come in each year to make this happen.
Shout out to our incredibly creative and talented teachers. You take learning to the next level! Shout out to our students for their hard work. Go Honkers!

We had an outstanding guest speaker yesterday and today in our AVID and Alt. Ed. classes! This is Chris Spetzler from Decision Education Foundation talking to students about how to make good decisions.

The AD Hay Student Council is getting in the Holiday Spirit! Show your holiday spirit by joining in the Spirit Week dress up days! A.D. Hay students can participate December 12th-20th. Fremont students can participate December 19th-20th.

LCSD7 Parents:
We have seen an increase of students with the flu. Please follow school guidelines for illness and keep your child home for the following:
- fever
- throwing up/diarrhea
- significant coughing
Athletes will not be kept from playing if they are home sick the day after a contest.
Please contact school secretaries to communicate when students will be out sick.

Winter sports are in full swing!

The LHS Student Council is proud to announce that the January 6, 2023 basketball hype night theme will be military appreciation night! In an effort to recognize active duty military and our veterans, we would like the community to send in photos of military men and women and 3-5 sentences about those heroes so we can recognize them at that game. Send your photos and information to patzke.rebekah@honker.email or drop them off at the LHS office.
Shout out to Samantha Alves and the A.D. Hay Student Council kiddos for all their hard work collecting 1056 food items that were donated to the Food Share. The Food Share will be handing these items out for their Christmas Distribution!

Attention Middle School Parents/Guardians:
The middle school boys game vs. Crosspoint that was scheduled for tonight has been cancelled. We will let you know when it has been rescheduled.
Thank you for understanding!
The personal finance class is beginning its unit on job interview skills. Today we learned how to tie ties with the help of Jake Greer, Lane Stratton, Mark Louie and Lloyd Hartley. The unit will culminate with mock interviews on December 8.
