Kindergarten Camp at Union was a great success! Students learned classroom expectations for carpet time, lining up, using crayons, paint and scissors. It was a fun filled week! We cannot wait for school to start!
New Staff Spotlight:
Please help us welcome Lacey Howard back to the LHS/DMS team!
Although she started with us at the beginning of the second semester of last school year, this is her first full year teaching for us and we want to recognize her! She will be teaching Calculus, Pre-Calculus, and Alt. Ed. Math for us this year. She has a B.S. in Mathematics from Gonzaga University. She grew up in Lakeview and graduated from LHS! Her and her husband are now raising their three kids here.
We are thrilled to welcome her to our LHS/DMS family.
We had a GREAT time at our middle school soft start with all of our new 7th graders! Thanks for coming, 7th graders! See you next Wednesday!

Please help us welcome Nate Sawin to the LHS/DMS team!
Nate will be teaching Algebra I, Math Essentials, and Middle School Special Education. He has taught and coached in the district both at the high school and the elementary levels for the last seven years.
We are so excited to have him in a permanent position in our building!

7th Grade Parents,
7th Grade Soft Start is today! Please drop students off at 12:45 pm in front of Daly Middle School, we will start in the DMS Gym and rotate to classes from there. Students can be picked up at 3:30 pm from the front of Daly Middle School. We are excited to meet all of our new students!
New Staff Spotlight:
Please help us welcome John Callaghan to the LHS/DMS team!
John will be teaching Geometry, Algebra II, and Liberal Arts Math. He is an Army Veteran and has been to every state except Alaska and Maine. His fastest mile is 3 minutes and 47 seconds. At the time he got this time, there were only 10 people in the world who could run the mile in under 4 minutes. He is originally from Alturas, CA and his wife was born and raised in Lakeview.
We are very excited for John to join us!
Delbert met our guest speaker, Andrew Marotta, at dinner and gave him two bags of candy for all of our staff and North Lake School District, to pass out during our training!

New Staff Spotlight:
Please help us welcome Roger Hulseman to the LHS/DMS team!
Roger is teaching all of our shop classes for us this year. He is a graduate from Bonanza High School. He spent 5 years working in underground construction and 10 years working for Timber Products as a machine operator and swing shift lead person.
He is excited for this new career path and will do great things in this position!

Please welcome Zach Anderson to the LHS/DMS team!
Zach will be teaching P.E. and assisting Andy Rygg with athletics this year at LHS/DMS. He was formerly a case manager for foster care and is looking forward to this new opportunity.

Please help us welcome Mariah Marrietta to the LHS/DMS team!
Mariah is the new Art teacher for LHS and DMS. She is in her second year teaching in the district and is very excited to explore different art techniques with students so that they can create their own works of art! A fun fact about her: most students know her as the teacher with crazy earrings!
We know she will be an asset to our building.

New Staff Spotlight:
Please welcome Kyle Deiter to our LHS/DMS team!
This will be his first year as our Library Manager. He is certified and licensed as an EMT through the State of Oregon and the National Registry. He has an Associates Degree in General Studies and is currently attending Oregon State University for a degree in Geography and Geospatial Science. He is married and has two children.
We are so excited to have Kyle as part of our staff!

Please welcome Jeff Cappe (in a new position) to the LHS/DMS team!
Jeff is in his second year at LHS/DMS but this year, he will be teaching Sports Medicine, EMR, and Health Careers. He has a background as a firefighter/paramedic in Florida, where he was born and raised. He and his wife and daughter have lived in Lakeview for the past 2 years. He enjoys fishing, camping, and travel.
We are so excited for this position change for him!

She is a new Science teacher this year and will be teaching Biology, Science 8, and AVID 8. She has a Bachelors of Science in Health and Human Performance from Eastern Oregon University. This will be her first year of teaching.
