Middle School Leadership did a great job today getting DMS ready for school!

New Staff Spotlight:
Please welcome Melissa Maxwell to the LHS/DMS team!
Melissa will be teaching English 9 and Leadership at the high school this year. She is excited to start with us! She has a Masters degree in Education and a minor in Spanish from Oregon State University. She is from the Portland area and has lived in Lakeview for 23 years. Both of her kids are busy with sports and helping the family on the ranch. Her hobbies are hiking, running, and anything her kids are doing.
Please help us welcome her to our staff!

New Staff Spotlight:
Please welcome Jonathan Squires to the LHS/DMS team!
He will be teaching English 10 and 11 at the high school this year. He is a 2009 LHS graduate and he went on to earn a degree in Organizational Communication from the University of Portland. After graduating with his degree, he went to South Korea in 2016 on a Fulbright Grant to teach English, and returned to Lakeview in 2022.
We are thrilled to welcome him to our staff!

Reminder students interested in Middle School Leadership will be decorating the DMS today from 10am-12pm !

Hope to see you there!

If you come by LHS/DMS, Amanda will be the first person you see!
We are very excited to have Amanda in a new role this year as Registrar. She is already doing an incredible job and tackling everything that comes her way.
She will be the main contact for all your attendance and school records needs.

Lakeview Honkers v. Douglas Trojans
We will see you there!

Attention LHS/DMS students and families!
We understand that the week before Lake County Fair is a very busy time for everyone. As a result, our Welcome Back to School Event that was originally scheduled for August 31st, has been cancelled.
Instead, we will be having a Back to School Night on Thursday, September 7th beginning at 5:00pm in the LHS Gym. This event will give students and families a chance to meet our staff and familiarize themselves with our building.
Hope to see you there!

Please see attached letter for more information on registration, Back to School night and early release time change.

The Flat Honker went on all sorts of grand adventures this year with our staff. Swing by LHS/DMS to check out photos of his summer shenanigans.
Thank you Fernanda Inzunza for creating this fantastic board!

We added more options so that calls for a new school year sale!

A little before and after of the painting of the "L" today.
An activity such as this one is a great reminder of the strength of coming together as a community.
Thank you to the coaches for always going above and beyond to build that community and carry on tradition.
Thank you to our athletes and student leaders who pour hours into not only their sports but all school activities.
Proud to be a Honker!

"Paint the L Day" is set for this Saturday August 12. This open to high school athletes that can participate in this annual community event.
We will meet at 6:15AM at the pool area and start hiking at 6:30. The paint will be brought up separately. However, everyone needs to dress in clothes and hiking shoes that can get paint on it. Everyone needs to bring water and rags that can be used for painting "sponge style".
Thanks for sharing this with your athletes and encouraging them to take part in this civic event. Hope to see you Saturday. - Coach Ludwig

We are SO excited to launch our PE uniform store. Orders will be shipped directly to your students teacher. These are OPTIONAL but PE clothes of some sort are mandatory.

Attention ALL Athletes!
Home school and associated school members please attend the Fall Sports meeting as well for important updates from your coaches!
Notice football will have an earlier meeting.
Go Honkers!

Please see attached flyer for more information regarding registration for Fremont, Hay, and Union Elementary Schools.

Our very own Miss City of Sunshine at the Klamath County Fair

Lockers are getting installed in the DMS for our incoming 7th Graders and Mrs.Young had help from Flat Honker to move into her new office in the south side of the DMS as well!
We are thankful for the hard work of maintenance and custodians for not only getting our buildings shinning but for all the projects being done and facilities being moved to get our Middle School wing ready!
We are excited for school!
