This week seniors spent time in Culinary with Ms. Alves. They learned various ways to cook eggs, elevated top ramen, homemade pizza and cake in a cup. All to get ready for life ahead. #lifeskills #kitchensstillmessy

4-DAY SCHOOL WEEK SURVEY Lake County School District 7 is currently conducting research to determine the possibility of adopting a four-day school week model. LCSD7 views this as an important community decision and we ask for your support in giving the district feedback. If LCSD7 were to convert to a four-day school week there would be changes to our calendar and potentially our school schedules to conform to state requirements related to instructional time. Alternative Education takes a special person to manage all the different courses, grade levels, and variety of needs students have. Olivia does an incredible job in this challenging role. The Ag Room welcomed new guests this week! Students were able to observe the eggs in the incubator and even watched them hatched all day yesterday! We are excited to have them with our petting zoo for Ag Awareness Day coming soon!

Count down to Teacher Appreciation Week! Andy Rygg teaches PE, strength and condo, and AVID 7. He is also a key player in our athletic department including assistant baseball coach, assistant football coach for 23-24, and an active participant in our Coaches Round Tables. Andy is extremely positive and encouraging to both students and coworkers alike. He is committed to building a strong Honker culture and we are lucky to have him on our team. Count down to Teacher Appreciation Week! Rick Stupak teaches Government, US History, and AP US History at LHS. He also coaches track and has been an important leader within the school including involvement in the Union, AVID Site Team, and helping with school events such as awards assemblies. In addition, this year he took on the annual 8th Grade Washington D.C. Trip which is a huge commitment. Rick does an outstanding job exposing our students to rigorous learning while also working with those who need extra support. Thank you Rick for all you do! Count down to Teacher Appreciation Week! Amanda Hamilton teaches PE, Lifetime PE, and Health at LHS/DMS. She is also the assistant softball coach at LHS! Thanks to Amanda's work with Lifetime PE there is a place for all kids to feel successful in fitness. Ms. A does an incredible job helping kids connect to learning including her work with Mental Health weeks by bringing in professionals in their field for her students to learn from. Come visit the KCC Open House. It is open and free to the public. At the open house we will have local employers at the career fair. KCC will also have program demonstrations, including VR headsets, semi-truck driving simulations, and the Fire Science firetruck. We are also celebrating Career and Technical Education (CTE day) with information about our CTE programs. There will be food and fun activities galore! We can't wait to see you there. April 21st, 2023 Cesar Chavez Leadership Conference Western Oregon University in Monmouth, Oregon

Students in horticulture have been learning methods of propagation by taking houseplant cuttings, layering plants, and dividing Venus fly traps.

The Daly Middle School, Track and Field team had another strong performance on Thursday at Lost River! They had 16 athletes in the top half of their events, set 27 personal records, and set three more All-Time Daly Middle School records (Since 2005). The girls also placed 3rd out of Seven teams!

Count down to Teacher Appreciation Week! Teona Hamilton teaches English 8 and English 10 at LHS/DMS. She also supervises Middle School Leadership which includes lunch time meetings and after school events. Students love Teona's classes because she is able to make learning interesting and fun. ANYONE can learn in her class because she is so talented at meeting kids where they are, helping them see their own strengths, and building positive relationships! Thank you Teona! Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday of this week, 6th grade students from AD Hay and Union Elementary went to LHS where they learned about the AVID program with the Sophomores, and played games. They all had a great time!

Yesterday, Lakeview FFA traveled to Rogue River to compete in the Vet Science CDE Contest. The contest included a Written Test, Breed ID, Parasite ID, Equipment ID, Math Application Practice, Clinical Practicums, and Handling Practicums. 🌟 Advanced Team - 3rd Place Top 10 High Individuals 🌟 10th Place - Kaydyn Kintzley 🌟 9th Place - Lola Simms Congratulations!

The memorial run for LHS/DMS teacher Noni Vandenberg is so close! Tomorrow is the final day to get your entry form in and get the commemorative tshirt. Applications are available at the LHS office. We finished up our car buying unit in personal finance today with Sam Hall, from Hall Motor, in to speak. She gave us valuable information about what is needed to buy a car, how to read the window sticker, how to use Kelley Blue Book and what Carfax will tell us. Thanks for being such a wonderful community partner!
