Many low-income families and individuals have not claimed Child Tax Credits or the Third Stimulus payment due to them. Families have until November 15, 2022 to claim the credit.
Nearly 90% of children in the U.S. are eligible for the 2021 expanded Child Tax Credit (CTC), which provides up to $3,600 per child. Additional income like the CTC is associated with stronger educational performance, improved health, and reduced stress among kids in families with low incomes. Unfortunately, too many kids are at risk of missing out. You do not have to be tax experts to help!
While the tax filing deadline has passed, families with no or low incomes can still file without penalty and claim the full CTC (or the remaining half if they received 2021 advance payments).
Families have until mid-November to claim the credit on their own through the simplified filing portal, GetCTC.org/orschools. After that, families can still claim the 2021 CTC, but must file full tax returns. They have until April 15, 2025, to do so.
STATE PLAYOFFS! The girls soccer team has qualified for the state playoffs and will be traveling to Sisters on November 2nd. Game starts at 5pm. Reminder that tickets will be digital and they are located on the OSAA website. If you have any questions please call the high school.

Yesterday was amazing! One of our students was able to preg check with Dr. Kirby Kerns from Lakeview Animal Hospital. Two of our other students were able to follow Eric Ingram, a Lake Health District surgical nurse.

We would like to invite you to a parent's club meeting on Oct. 12th at 4:30 at the A.D. Hay Gym. We would like to visit with parents who are interested in being members of our parent's club. We will be hosting a substitute orientation next Monday, October 10th at 2:45 p.m. at the A.D. Hay Elementary Gym. If you are interested or have ever considered subbing in the school district this would be a great time to ask questions and learn more. If you are currently already on our substitute list, we encourage you to join us for this orientation.
Building principals will go over elementary and secondary hand books, walk you through the buildings, answer any and all questions along with explaining day to day duties as a substitute.
